Grande Prairie Live Theatre is in rehearsals for The Mystery of Irma Vep – A Penny Dreadful, which opens Oct. 22 and runs until Nov. 7.
“Things are getting a little batty in rehearsal… and that’s before the murders!” the theatre says.
The theatre describes the show as one where the costumes are dramatic, the screams are loud, the romance is questionable, and nobody is having a normal evening. It promises audiences “gothic chaos, frightful shenanigans, and theatrical madness.”
The production includes death, murder, loud screams, jump scares, sexual innuendo, and simulated onstage sex with no nudity. The theatre recommends it for audiences aged 13 and older.
Tickets are available through Showpass.
“Come for the mystery. Stay for the mayhem. Try not to scream,” the theatre says.
